An armed robbery took place at the post office in Vrachneika in Patra early on Friday morning, with the three armed robbers taking off with about 60,000 euros.

According to the Police, the three armed men smashed the post office’s entrance window and immediately headed to the cash register, brandishing their weapons to intimidate customers.

After taking the cash, they escaped in a car which they had parked nearby and headed towards the Patra-Pyrgos national high way. The armed robbers later set fire to their escape vehicle on a side-road, before setting off in another vehicle.
