By mid-February, 2.500 suspended civil servants will be transferred to new positions. The ministerial decree will be signed by Deputy Minister of Finances Antonis Manitakis on Thursday.

Following the signing, the decree with be sent to public services and become a guide for all future transfers of “suspended” civil servants.

From the 2.500 civil servants, the ministry has prioritized the needs of those who have the most relevant skill-set and live the closest to the agency they have applied to be transferred to and those who fulfill certain social criteria (such as single parents or large families).

Lists of transfers will be sent to ASEP, the Supreme Council for Personnel Selection, to be reviewed and decided upon. ASEP’s evaluation will then be publicized on the Internet, allowing five days for any objections. Should everything go as planned, the process will be complete within 45 days.
