Investigative judges Georgouleas and Papakostas have ordered the Financial and Economic Crime Unit (SDOE) to examine the finances of the ultra nationalist Golden Dawn party, which is accused of being a criminal organization.
According to a report by Ta Nea, the goal of the investigation is to determine whether the party has been used for money laundering or other financial crimes.
A number of former and current Golden Dawn members have offered to testify as protected witnesses, while making serious allegations about the party’s practices.
