The President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker has confirmed his personal involvement in the discussion for a solution to the Greek affair, however he did not confirm the existence of a proposal to overcome the impasse.

Mr. Juncker, who spoke to Bloomberg, estimated that an agreement between Greece and is creditors by the end of May or early June was possible, but ruled out the possibility of an agreement being reached at the upcoming summit in Riga.

When asked about the prospects of an agreement for Greece, the European Commission chief was confident of an agreement being reached. He also clarified that while the Greek affair is not on the agenda at the Eurogroup in Riga, it will nonetheless be discussed in the sidelines of the summit.
