The Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy Panos Skourletis stressed that “it is vital to hold general elections” while underlining that “we must develop a recovery plan beyond the bailout”.
In his Monday-morning appearance on SKAI, Mr. Skourletis explained that democratic legitimacy from society in necessary, since the government’s actions must be approved by the people. He added that SYRIZA’s goal is to form a single-party government.
Regarding the latest political developments, he commented that the government has suffered “repeat blows” in the past three weeks, adding that he recognizes SYRIZA voters and MPs to express their dissent via vote.
