Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras issued an announcement, only a few hours before he departs for Brussels where is scheduled to meet with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem.
Mr. Tsipras explained that the Greek government has submitted a comprehensive proposal for an honest compromise which, he argued, will put an end to the various scenarios regarding a ‘Grexit’. The Prime Minister revealed that he has not yet received any comments or other document from Greece’s partners regarding their agreement proposal.
Additionally, Mr. Tsipras said that it is necessary for the political leadership to adopt a more realistic outlook, which will be in the benefit of a united Europe. Mr. Tsipras stressed the need for European institutions to be realistic and underlined the need for unity.
