The recent warm temperatures and sunshine are to give way on Wednesday to sporadic thunderstorms, hail and a noticeable drop in temperatures, according to the national meteorological agency EMY. According to EMY these weather conditions will persist until Friday and will affect many areas in the country.

On Wednesday the Cycladic Islands, Dodecanese and regions in the eastern Aegean Sea will experience thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. These conditions will start in the Ionian Sea, Epirus and Western part of Central Greece and will spread out to the rest of the country, with Crete being unaffected.

The thunderstorms and rainfall will persist in most areas in Greece on Thursday, with some hair and strong wings expected, particularly in western and northern parts in the country. By Friday though these weather conditions will be limited in eastern and southern areas in the country and will gradually begin to retreat.
