A network of LGBTQI groups has arranged a demonstration on Friday, the 5th of September, against the anti-racism bill which will be discussed and voted upon in Parliament that day. The demonstration is scheduled to start at Varnavas Square in Pangrati at 5pm, followed by a march to Parliament.

In their announcement, the groups explain that they oppose the anti-racism because despite being submitted for the fifth time in Parliament, it has been distorted and does not sufficiently address homophobic and transphobic violence, which is recently on the rise along with racist violence.

The groups further stress that racist violence is being legitimized as far right and extremist attitudes are increasingly becoming dominant.
