In their recent talks, the troika representatives have demanded from the Ministry of Health to upgrade the accounting services and billing system of hospitals and to keep books for the purchase of medical supplies.

In 2014 the Ministry of Health will have a budget that comes to 4.483 billion euros and as such, it will focus on the restricting the cost of the health services it provides.

The government has committed to introducing a detailed pricing system in hospitals, which it hopes will cover the needs of all hospitals.

To than end, a new system of supply and stock management must also be implemented. By scanning the barcodes of medication and consumables, the hospitals will be aware of what is available and what is needed.
