The interim public broadcast service Greek Public Television (EDT) began broadcasting its signal through the three channels allocated to ERT just before 8:30 on Wednesday morning. At present only the interim public TV station’s logo is being broadcast.

It is not yet know where EDT is being broadcast from, as the ERT facilities are still under the control of the ERT employees, who continue to broadcast programs. Opposition leaders SYRIZA and former government partners DIMAR are likely to react to the use of private studios. Last night the relevant committee approved the government-sponsored proposal for the founding of “NERIT”, after a fierce confrontation.

Rumors regarding the operation of the interim EDT channel began circulating late on Tuesday evening. It is suggested that the interim channel will broadcast TV series, films, documentaries and whatever is available in ERT’s archives. Some news will be displayed at the bottom of the screen, without the presence of journalists.
