While speaking at a conference on NSRF funding, the general secretary of Culture Lina Mendoni explained that there are currently 577 NSRF-funded projects, with 199 of them funded in the past year. The total NSRF budge comes to 705.5 million euros.
The Deputy Minister of Culture Kostas Tzavaras noted that the 2014-2020 period was off on a great start since Greece has increased its funding distribution by 35.7%. The total funding of 20.4 billion euros will create 208,000 jobs.
In down town Athens alone there are 16 projects worth 118 million euros under way, including the restoration of the public theater in Piraeus and the Dafni Monastery. The total budget of projects in Attica comes to 157 million euros.
