Members of the Golden Dawn chapter in Avavyssos attacked a PAME unionist on Tuesday evening because they were «annoyed» by the music he was playing in his car.
The general secretary of the private sector worker union of Lavrio and PAME member claims that he noticed a group of about ten people chasing him. A public Golden Dawn event was taking place and it appears they were annoyed by the music the victim was playing in his car. The Golden Dawn members eventually caught and taunted him, with one hit him in the face.
The unionist reported the event to the local police department. The police department chief later visited the local Golden Dawn offices, asking for the man in charge. Golden Dawn MP Giorgos Germenis claimed to be in charge and denied assistance. The police commander informed his superiors, leading to the deployment of two riot police units in the area.
Following the end of Golden Dawn event, the police detained 25 suspects, from which the assaulted unionist managed to identify one who was allegedly in the group that taunted him.
At midnight, Golden Dawn MP and press representative Ilias Kasidiaris visited the local police department and sued the police officers for “misconduct”!
