The Ministry of Labor will submit a bill for the application of the “Ariadne” electronic system, to deal with illegal pensions, which also includes a number of favorable provisions for the unemployed and pensioners.

According to the bill, the insurance cover of unemployed has been extended until the 28th of February 2014, as a solution to the suspension of disability benefits and pensions of IKA-ETAM insurance holders which were suspended during the long wait for reevaluation.

The bill also introduces the “Ariadne” system in order to combat illegal pensions that some 50,000 individuals collected, as well as an insurance compliance certificate that businesses will have to apply for, similarly to the tax certificate.

The bill also makes provisions for the cooperation of the Financial Police, employment commissioners SEPE) and EYPEA. The jurisdiction of the Financial Police Sub-directorate has been expanded to include the prevention, investigation and suppression of financial crimes, especially those which are committed against the interests of the State and the national economy.
