The testimony of G Angelopoulos, former IT assistant to Minister of Finances G. Papakonstantinou, has added a new twist to the developing “Lagarde List” scandal. Mr. Angelopoulos appears to be the one who was ordered to process the list in order to identify the top 20 account-holders, as well as estimate a total sum of deposits contained in the (now lost) CD.
According to his testimony, the file that Mr. Angelopoulos edited appears to be different to the one described by Mr. Floratos, one of three SDOE clerks who received a new copy of the CD from French authorities via the Ministry of Finances. As such, the parliamentary committee deemed it necessary for Mr. Angelopoulos to view the new copy, to determine if it was the same one as he edited.
When the keys to the vault containing the new copy were finally located, the committee members sealed it and arranged to view it with Mr. Angelopoulos at a new session on Wednesday.
