The Minister of Growth K. Hatzidakis will be contacting the head of the Commission Task Force in Greece H. Reichenbach, in order to discuss recommencing the four major road projects, as well NSRF funds and the progress of administrative reforms.
The meeting is planned to take place at 5.30 in the afternoon at the Ministry’s offices at Syntagma Square. Mr. Hatzidakis estimates that the road projects will generate 25,000 new jobs. The government plans to begin work in April, therefore the relevant agreement with banks must be made by February.
In November the European Investment Bank approved a 650 million euro loan to Greece, towards the construction of the roads. The loan is to cover the State’s involvement in the “Patra-Athens-Thessaloniki” road, benefiting concessions.
