The details of the controversial new unified real estate tax, which is to replace current taxes in September 2013, are to be debated by representatives of all three government partners at a meeting under Deputy Minister of Finances G. Mavraganis.

PASOK and DIMAR insists that the tax must be accompanied by an non-taxable limit of 50,000 or 100,000 euros, while ministry officers insist that there should be no such limit, so that the tax is spread out to all tax-payers.

Next week an intergroup committee will discuss taxation issues with the Minister of Finances G. Stournaras, with the final decisions about the tax to be made by the political leaders of the government partnership.

The Panhellenic Federation of Real Estate Owners has requested that all types of property, without exception, be included in the measure, since real estate property is unlikely to amass the 3.2 billions that the government expects.
