A group of young people broke off the main student protest, on the corner of Filellinon and Othonos streets in the city center of Athens and caused damages to a mobile phone shop. Earlier they attempted to damage a bank branch on Othonos street.
It appears that the group of young people attempted to join the march, which is headed toward Zappeio. The students have managed to repel the group and are carrying on with their march.
The city center of Athens around Syntagma Square has been blocked, as an estimated 3,000 students answered the call for a demonstration.
