The Minister of Administrative Reform Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave an interview to Vima 99.5 FM and commented on the recent conflict between the government coalition partners over staff reviews in the public sector.

Regarding the clash between New Democracy and PASOK Mr. Mitsotakis noted that when traditional political enemies govern together «there will be tension«. The Minister added that when a law has been approved in Parliament it must also be implemented and stressed that the upcoming dismissals in the public sector were agreed with the troika in 2012.

When asked about the possibility of early elections, Mr. Mitsotakis opined that SYRIZA would not be able to create the necessary front to trigger early elections in early 2015.

PASOK’s Rigas responds

Mr. Mitsotakis’ sentiments were also echoed by PASOK’s Panagiotis Rigas, who stated that “cohabitation has problems and the problems are exacerbated when we notice dogmatic attitudes” and added that “the review process is not enforced by the troika and we can discuss amongst ourselves”.

The PASOK officer denounced Mr. Mitsotakis’ criticism of PASOK and claimed that personal agendas and ambitions were at play.
