The Standing Committee on Social Affairs in Parliament will host a special debate on the implementation of smoking ban legislation, at the request of the Hellenic Cardiological Society (EKE).

EKE recently participated in the recent debate, last Thursday, on the legislative reforms on tobacco products. The Hellenic Cardiological Society expressed concerned that electronic cigarettes may act as a ‘Trojan Horse’.

The Hellenic Cardiological Society has pressured for the strict implementation of the smoking ban legislation and for the government to adopt a national health policy of prevention, in order to reduce the number of smokers, especially young people.
