The international committee of experts on labor matters, which has been tasked with issuing a report on how Athens may comply with the best EU practices in labor relations, has arranged to convene in Athens on Monday.
The Greek government is intent on restoring collective negotiations, while Greece’s creditors have called for legislation on collective dismissals and a reform of the union law.
The Minister of Labor Giorgos Katrougalos has underlined that the abolition of holiday bonus pay (often referred to as the “13th and 14th wage”) is not on the table and that the government has drawn “red lines” in relation to collective dismissals.
