The Democratic Left recently announced that it is in favor of the coalition government’s electoral law reform, adding tension to its alliance with PASOK.

In a Tuesday morning interview on SKAI, the President of the Democratic Left Thanasis Theoharopoulos argued that there is a lot more that unites the two parties than divides them, while dismissing allegations that he is preparing to cooperate with SYRIZA.

After the Democratic Left publicized its support of the government’s electoral reform proposal, PASOK MP Dimitris Kremastinos was highly critical of the Democratic Alignment partner and estimated that Mr. Theoharopoulos will never be reelected as an MP.

Mr. Theoharopoulos demanded explanations from PASOK over the ‘dismissive statements’ and noted that he does not intends to be anybody’s ‘crutch’.
