The Ministry of Finance has announced that a 2.282 billion euro primary surplus has been achieved in the five-month period between January and May 2016.

In greater detail, the ministry’s divs show an 814-million-euro deficit in the state budget during the five month period, which is down from the 1.399-billion-euro deficit last year and the budget target for 2016, which was a 3.88 billion euro deficit.

Meanwhile the primary surplus amounted to 2.282 billion euros, compared to a 1.506 billion euro surplus last year and with the target being an 820-million-euro primary deficit.

The state budget’s net revenue amounted to 19.208 billion euros, which was 328 million euros (1.7%) above the target. Similarly, the ordinary budget’s net revenue amounted to 17.263 billion euros, increased by 773 million euros (4.7%) of the target for 2016.
