The extraordinary Eurogroup that has been scheduled for Monday, the 9th of May, will see the Eurozone Finance Ministers officially debate the sustainability of the Greek public debt for the first time on this level.

According to the meeting agenda that was published, the Eurogroup will hold an extraordinary meeting to discuss the state of play of Greece’s macroeconomic adjustment program.

The discussions will cover a comprehensive package of policy reforms as well as the sustainability of Greece’s public debt. Both of these elements will need to be in place in order to finalize the bailout program’s first review and unlock further financial assistance to Greece.

Eurozone sources have confirmed that the Euro Working group will convene on Thursday afternoon in order to discuss the whole package of measures and the “back-up mechanism”.
