The miners employed by Hellenic Gold have symbolically cut off access to the old town hall in Arnea, as they escalate their actions in response to the temporary closure of the controversial mining operation.

The municipal employees have left the building, which houses all services of the Aristotelis municipality. Police officers are reportedly on the scene and are discreetly observing the situation.

In the meantime another group of miners is protesting by remaining inside the Olympiada mines.
