Police officers were fired upon by an unknown man at about 7:30 on Sunday morning near the Athens Hilton in the Ilisia area, during a routine inspection.
According to the police report, the patrol car signaled the suspect to stop for an inspection, who was walking on the corner of Orminiou and Krousovis street.
At that point though, the suspect pulled out a gun and fire three times in the direction of the police officers, before speeding off and disappearing. No injuries were reported and an investigation has been launched for the suspect’s apprehension.
