The inter-party clash within SYRIZA between the party leadership and the Left Platform is escalating with Panagiotis Lafazanis announcing in Thessaloniki that will not vote for a new bailout.
Mr. Lafazanis also repeated his claim that he intends to support the government, as far as its election program is concerned, but will not support further austerity measures or their implementation. Mr. Lafazanis also made it clear that no Left Platform MPs will vote for additional measures.
With the Left Platform not willing to support additional austerity measures in Parliament, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will not have many options available and may be forced to call general elections.
