The European Commission and the European Central Bank are reportedly preparing a statement regarding debt relief for Greece, in an effort t overcome the impasse in negotiations.
The statement being drafted is rumored to be similar to the statement issued by the Eurogroup in November 2012.
The Greek government and International Monetary Fund had pressured the European Commission and European Central Bank for debt relief, as the country’s public debt does not appear to be sustainable.
