German Chancellor Angela Merkel underlined the importance of continuing the negotiations between the Greek government and its international creditors, in order to come to a solution and agreement.

Mrs. Merkel, who appeared at a conference of family business leaders in Berlin, explained that “where there’s a will there’s a way, but the will has to come fro all sides, so it’s important that we keep speaking with each other”.

Earlier the German leader argued that with the euro being “too strong”, it will be harder for Eurozone members, such as Greece, to reform.

Mrs. Merkel’s comments cause a 1% drop in value of the euro against the US dollar. A London-based currency trader told Reuters that the German Chancellor was «talking down the euro«.
