According to an exclusive report in the Rheinisch Post, top German officials appear certain that Greece will require a third bailout package in the summer, worth 20 billion euros.

The German newspaper cited government sources who after the extension of the Greek loan agreement explained that it was “perfectly clear” that Greece would need further in the summer.

When asked about the possibility of a third bailout the Minister of Finances Wolfgang Schäuble is said to have responded “never say never” at yesterday’s discussion of his parliamentary group.

Mr. Schäuble argued in favor of extending the Greek program, stressed that the possibility of a “Grexit” is not an option. Chancellor Angela Merkel had little input in the discussion, but estimated that Athens is starting to “accept reality”.
