The Minister of Finances Gikas Hardouvelis has clarified that the coalition government is working on a concise and detailed growth plan, which will be debated with industry bodies and Greek society.
Mr. Hardouvelis’ clarifications came after New Democracy MP Giorgos Kontogiannis referred to the plans in Parliament. The Finance Ministry’s plans are based on healthy competition, which will allow all businesses, irrespective of size, to become more extroverted and active.
According to Mr. Hardouvelis, the growth plan is based on a scientific report conducted by IOVE, KEPE and McKinsey&Company. Amongst the growth plan’s main concerns are supporting primary production and the manufacturing of agricultural products, while increasing their value through standardization and quality control.
