A serious explosion on Monday in a fireworks factory in Zevgolatio in Korinthia left two children, a 13-year-old boy and his 8-year-old sister, gravely injured.

The children have been rushed to the “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital and are currently receiving treatment for multiple burns in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

The 39-year-old father of the two children and his 38-year-old brother, who are the factory owners, were also injured in the explosion and have been taken to the Thriasio hospital. The 39-year-old is in a critical condition, after having suffered burns on 90% of his body, while his 38-year-old brother is in a better condition.

During the explosion it appears that the owners were working in the factory’s storage areas, while the children were playing outside.
