The sudden change of the weather earlier this morning has caused a number of problems in western parts of the country, in areas around Mesologi, Patra and Nafpaktos. The Civil Protection has warned people to be careful over the next few days and take necessary precautions.
In Mesologi strong winds damaged the roofs of traditional buildings near the lake and a number of fallen trees have been documented. In Nafpaktos the winds caused damages to the outdoor market and storefronts. The Fire Brigade in Patra received over a dozen calls for assistance related to fallen trees, while the thunderstorm caused a serious traffic jam. Likewise, the streets in Pyrgos were flooded by the thunderstorm.
