The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras met with the head of the IMF Christine Lagarde yesterday and discussed the Greek economy in light of the recent troika review and the Greek debt viability, for about 45 minutes.

While there was no press conference after the meeting, Mr. Samaras told reporters that the discussion went well. The government echoed this optimism with senior officers claiming that the there was a “very good climate” during the meeting, where “all matters” regarding the Greek program were discussed.

On the other hand, Mrs. Lagarde was more reserved and reported that the meeting was productive, while stressing the progress Greece has achieved in reforms and the need for a “strong budget” in 2014.
