The police had to evacuate two buildings and restrict traffic in downtown Athens after receiving separate anonymous phone-calls warning of two explosive devices planted in buildings.
The two buildings in name were the Deposits and Loans Fund on Akadimias street and the Emporiki Bank store on Sofokleous street. The police blocked traffic on Akadimias at the intersection with Sina Street, on Omirou Street at the intersection with Solonos and on Sofokleous street at the intersection with Stadiou. After the bomb squad completed its investigation, traffic resumed as normal.
