The former head of OGA P. Petroulas claims his replacement was unjustified and that the replacement occurred without his or the Prime Minister’s knowledge, following a decision by Minister of Labor G. Vroutsis. Mr. Petroulas was replaced by the former secretary of the Ministry of Labor D. Kontos.

Mr. Petroulas told Vima 99.5 that approximately 10-15 days he received a phone call from a Ministry of Labor clerk, informing him of the government’s decision to replace and requesting a resignation. Mr. Petroulas replied “for matters of ethics and note because I am obsessed with power, I replied that I will not submit a resignation and let the legal procedure follow”.

However, Mr. Petroulas stated that the Prime Minister called him on Tuesday in order to discuss the OGA plan for the next six months. The former OGA head adds he was “unaware” when his replacement was to take place. On Thursday afternoon he was informed that the premature end of his tenure was signed on the 8th of February.

Mr. Petroulas stated that “the way all this happened is unacceptable. My political supervisor never contacted me. Everyone should be judged and the inefficient should be replaced”.
