The president of the Industries Union of Athens and Piraeus (SVAP) Dimitris Manthos claims that kick starting the economy “is impossible without the required cash flow and the cash flow is impossible when emergency taxes cause cash problems for businesses”.

Mr. Manthos has controversially asked that the Ministry of Finances exempts industrial premises from the current tax law, in order to encourage new investments. The SVAP president considers the current tax policies to hinder industrial activity, competition and investment. Mr. Manthos stated that should industrial premises and property be taxed, investments and national production will hit rock bottom.
