According to the results of a GPO poll conducted for Mega Channel, Antonis Samaras’ New Democracy is 0.3% ahead of SYRIZA, in the “intention to vote” category. The detailed results are as follows:

  • New Democracy: 21.2%
  • SYRIZA: 20.8%
  • PASOK: 7.4%
  • ANEL: 5.2%
  • Golden Dawn: 10%
  • DIMAR: 4.8%
  • KKE: 5%
  • Other party: 3.9%
  • Abstinence: 7.3%
  • Undetermined: 14.5%

In the “most appropriate Prime Minister” category Antonis Samaras is ahead with a 46.1% vote, with Alexis in second spot (27.8%) and “None of the above” claiming a 24.1%. Regarding tax policies 38.8% feel they are “necessary”, 22.1% feel they are efficient and only 10.1% feel they are “fair”.

57.3% of respondents judged the government’s efforts to be “negative/probably negative”, compared to 41.4% who consider their efforts “positive/probably positive”.

When asked about their opinion on the parties, the positive votes were 37.2% for DIMAR, 35.2% for New Democracy, 31.7% for SYRIZA, 2,3% for ANEL, 26.8 for KKE, 26.6% for PASOK and 16.5% for Golden Dawn.

Approximately 44.1% had a positive opinion of Antonis Samaras, followed by Fotis Kouvelis with 43.2%, Alexis Tsipras with 36.8%, Evangelos Venizelos (32.5%), Aleka Papariga (30.7%), Panos Kammenos (30.5%) and Nikos Michaloliakos in last place with 18.1%.

The survey reflects the opinions of a sample of 1,200 across Greece, between 31.1.2013 and 4.2.2013.
