Police sergeant arrested for drug smuggling
A 45-year-old Police sergeant was arrested by Coast Guards in Volos in the early hours of Wednesday for dealing narcotics.
On Tuesday afternoon the Coast Guard arrested two people for possession with intent to distribute of 1.106 kilos of cannabis. The Coast Guard also confiscated a pick up truck, three mobile phones, the drugs and 620 euros in cash. After interrogation about the upcoming deal, the Coast Guard then used marked bills to apprehend the 45-year-old.
The Coast Guard later searched the 45-year-old’s house and recovered a Tokarev pistol and clip, a switchblade, 30,700 euros in cash and a number of potentially phony bills. The Internal Affairs agency of the Police has been informed. It is reminded that more arrests with drug charged of police officers were made recently.
