The Ministry of Culture has announced that the archeological teams have uncovered an artificial ditch in the enigmatic tomb in Amphipolis. The Ministry also revealed that further efforts are made to improve the tomb’s structural support.
According to the announcement, the artificial ditch was discovered in the fourth area in the tomb during the removal of dirt. The ditch, which measures 4 by 2.1 meters, was discovered along with part of a marble door.
The archeologists are trying to remove the door (which is estimated to weigh about one and a half tones) from the area, before further examining the opening in the ground.
