A demonstration of bondholders is taking place outside the Ministry of Finances of Monday morning, with the demonstrators demanding a meeting with Minister Gikas Hardouvelis.
A bondholder representative met with the Ministry’s general secretary Tasos Anastasatos. The bondholders have also hung a pig outside the Ministry.
A similar demonstration of bondholders is also taking place outside the Bank of Greece’s building in Thessaloniki.
The bondholders are demonstrating over the financial loss they suffered due to the bond “haircut” that the government implemented in 2012. In a statement they argue that the coalition government is trying to ignore their claims.
