The Minister of State and Prime Minister’s consultant Dimitris Stamatis took the initiative to meet with the leader of DIMAR and government partner Fotis Kouvelis, in order to discuss the operation and future of the tripartite government.

Mr. Kouvelis reiterated his position that ERT should resume its normal operations immediately, rather than compromising the programming with reruns and documentaries. The DIMAR leader also requested the formation of a committee set up by the three government partners, with the purpose of processing the ERT reform plan.

It is unlikely that Mr. Kouvelis will change his stance on these issues on the Monday afternoon meeting with Antonis Samaras and Evangelos Venizelos.

Mr. Stamatis visited Mr. Kouvelis at DIMAR’s central offices, in an effort to moderate the tension amongst the three government partners, in light of the crisis over ERT’s closure.
