The summer holidays will officially come to an end for thousands of children across Greece, as it was announced that schools will open on Friday the 11th of September.
The official start of the new school year was announced by the Ministry of Education, in spite of the significant teacher shortages throughout the country.
It was also announced that the schools will remain closed on the 18th and 21st of September, due to the general elections that have been scheduled for the 20th of September.
