The general secretary of KKE, the Greek Communist Party, Dimitris Koutsoumpas estimated that the Greek government will come to an agreement with its creditors, however he did not rule out the possibility of an accident.

Mr. Koutsoumpas criticized the government for failing to implement its election campaign promises, such as “writing off the debt” and clarified that his party would not support the government, even if it falls out with its creditors and leaves the euros, since it does not have a concise plan for the social economy.

Additionally, Mr. Koutsoumpas asserted that the government will take measures that will further burden the working classes, whether an agreement is reached or the country is forced to leave the Eurozone.

Regarding the dramatic situation in the Mediterranean, the Communist Party leader urged the government to disregard the Dublin II treaty, so that migrants arriving in Greece may be free to travel on to their intended destinations.

Finally, Mr. Koutsoumpas called mayors and public bodies to defy the government’s controversial legislative act regarding their cash reserves.
