About 270,000 beneficiaries have received the social dividend benefit over the past three days, however thousands have seen their applications rejected due to exceeding criteria by a few euros. As such, the Ministry of Finances has decided to expand the criteria.
The Ministry of Finances is rumored to announce the new criteria on Wednesday, which will see the income criteria applicants increased according to their marital and family status. Additionally, applicants who exceed the criteria may still apply, however the benefit will decrease by 1 euro for each “excessive” euro.
So far, about 1 in 3 applications for the benefit have been approved. Of the 830,000 applications submitted, about 560,000 have been rejected and 270,000 approved, before the criteria are to expand. The first payments are due on Friday, the 9th of May.
