Man crashes car into front window to protest Mosque restoration

A 52-year-old man has been arrested after he crashed his car into the glass front of the Ministry of Culture’s Directory of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monument Restoration in downtown Athens at 10.25 this morning.

At the time of the crash the Directorate was hosting an auctioning for the restoration of the Mosque in ancient agora in Monastiraki and about 20 people were protesting outside.

According to the police, the 52-year-old man is facing serious psychological problems.
