The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras is preparing for his Wednesday trip to China, where he will seek out investment opportunities, but before that he is in constant contact with his ministerial council.

The PM was recently visited at Maximou Hall by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos and Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni, while a meeting with Commissioner Cecilia Malstrom is also planned.

Mr. Samaras departs tomorrow morning for China and returns on 19th of May. He will arrive in Beijing on Thursday, where he will speak at the Chinese Academy. Later in the day he will meet PM Li Keqiang. The following day he will attend a business forum organized by the Greek-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. In the afternoon Mr. Samaras will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Aside from a visit to the Great Wall of Chine and the Forbidden City, the PM is scheduled to speak at the International Culture Forum in Hangzhou, while he will later attend a meeting of investors from both countries in Shanghai.

Mr. Samaras’ trip is intended to attract investors and develop greater ties with the second largest economy and UN Security Council member. The Greek PM is the second western leader after French President Hollande to visit the Chinese Premier and President.
