Judicial authorities are concerned with the reactions to the release of the three Golden Dawn MPs today, but insist that the investigations will continue. According to the Athens News Agency, the three MPs will maintain their MP status.

According to judicial officers, the restriction measures imposed on the three MPs (to report to local police departments and remain in Greece) were imposed because the evidence against them is “solid”. They argue that they were set free because they are not suspected of escaping or committing further crimes, since their identities and relevant events have been publicized.

Furthermore, the detention of Yannis Lagos was unavoidable, since the evidence directly associates him to the murder of antifascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas in Keratsini.

After the three Golden Dawn MPs were released on bail today, aside from verbally abusing the gathered journalists, they also resorted to slapping and kicking. On their way out they yelled “eat the false witnesses for breakfast, all charges would collapse” and “hooray for your democracy” when they approached by journalists for a comment on their release.

Ilias Kasidiaris slapped the camera man working for the Reuters news agency and kicked another who happened to be in his path. While Michos was boarding a taxi he exclaimed that “you will only beat us when we are dead” and “you are all slaves”, while Panagiotaros yelled “we will speak in the afternoon”.
