Olympiacos has secured its 42nd championship in Greece after defeating Levadiakos 4-0 in Piraeus and Panathinaikos was defeated 2-1 in Kozani by local side Panthrakikos.
With only three games left in the regular season, Panathinaikos cannot cover the 13-point difference between the two. This will be the fifth consecutive championship for the “Reds”, who will now focus on the Greek cup final.
This season was rather controversial, with major allegations of corruption, serious instances of hooliganism and the departure of two teams (OFI and Niki Volou) from the league due to major financial problems.
