The roll call vote on the coalition government’s development bill concluded and after being approved it is expected to come into effect in September.

As expected, the bill was approved by the MPs of the coalition government (SYRIZA and the Independent Greeks) and was opposed by New Democracy, Golden Dawn, the Communist Party, the River and Union of Centrists. The Democratic Alignment voted “present”.

Prior to the critical vote in Parliament, the coalition government and opposition parties debated over the aim and the scope of the growth bill. The roll call vote was held at the request of Golden Dawn.
