A 31-year-old Cypriot tourist was rushed to the Thriasio Hospital in Athens where he underwent surgery for head injuries, which he received after being assaulted by a doorman outside a beach bar on Myconos.

According to the police the 31-year-old suffered the brutal attack at around 10:30 in the evening on Sunday, after initially having a disagreement with another Cypriot in the beach bar.

The beach bar’s security intervened and escorted the 31-year-old outside to defuse the situation. The 31-year-old allegedly attempted to re-enter, at which point the 34-year-old security company owner and a 25-year-old security employee attacked him.

The police reported that the 34-year-old slapped the victim, while the 25-year-old knocked him down. The 31-year-old tourist is believed that have suffered a serious head injury when he was thrown down.

Initially both the 34-year-old and 25-year-old were detained and later released, however decided to arrest the 25-year-old doorman on Wednesday morning and will face attempted homicide charged.
